Knife Making Process

 

Finished KANELL knife with snake wood scales and serrated blade

Hot rolled CM154 cut into knife blanks using a combination of band saw and grinding processes.

File work and clean up.

File work complete, holes drilled and ready for grinding.

Fitting the Guards

Guards fitted and blades shown with template.

Holes drilled, blade ground, files work complete.

Ready for heat treat.

After heat treat. Bolsters pinned and soldiered. Gluing on the scales with a variety of reading material to select from while waiting for the glue to setup.

Brass Pins installed. Scales roughed out
